Agent Mastery deliberately begins at zero

Patch 13.06 gives every Agent an Act Level and a Total Level. Riot starts every player at zero in both categories, regardless of the hours accumulated before the update. The official notes say earlier playtime and progress will not carry into the new system because everyone begins the journey from the same point.

This creates a clear boundary. An email can recognize that a player spent years on Breach, but it does not convert those hours into Mastery Points. Likewise, a player who did not receive an email can begin earning the same new progression from launch. No supported source says that the recognition message changes an account’s level or rewards.

Mastery Points come from playing supported modes with the selected Agent. Wins and strong performance provide additional points. The Act Level records work completed in the current act and resets at the next one, while Total Level remains across acts as the long-term measure of new-system progress.

Each Agent has 10 main levels during an act. Portrait upgrades unlock at levels 4, 7 and 10, and players who reach the tenth level can continue progressing beyond it for the remainder of that act. When a new act begins, the Act Level resets, but the Total Level preserves the accumulated history.

The permanent track also opens each Agent’s reward path. Players spend Kingdom Credits to choose rewards, including content connected to the previous Agent Gear system and newly added items. Rewards already unlocked under the earlier system remain on the account, so the zero-level start does not remove owned cosmetics.

Agent IDs provide another display layer. Components unlock through the reward paths and can be customized and equipped. Together with portraits and Total Level, they give players visible ways to represent future dedication even though the system does not import historical hours.

The emails fill a gap the system leaves open

Starting everyone at zero keeps the new progression comparable from launch, but it cannot show the years players spent mastering an Agent before Patch 13.06. The email campaign acknowledges part of that missing history for selected accounts. It is a message of recognition rather than a retroactive statistic inside Agent Mastery.

That separation also prevents two misleading conclusions. First, receiving an email does not establish a Mastery advantage. Second, beginning at level zero does not mean Riot has no record of earlier playtime. The reported Breach message demonstrates that historical hours were available for recognition even though they were not transferred into progression.

Riot has not explained in the cited reporting how recipients were selected across every Agent or whether more waves will follow. Until that information appears, the responsible description is limited: selected high-playtime users are receiving personalized thanks, while all accounts independently build Agent Mastery from zero under the new rules.

Riot’s Agent emails celebrate past dedication without changing the new progression system. The reported Breach recipient received a developer message for exceptional North American playtime, while Agent Mastery still starts every account at zero and grows through supported matches. Historical recognition and future progression now sit beside each other, but they are not interchangeable rewards.

Riot is emailing selected long-time Agent players with developer messages, while Patch 13.06’s new Agent Mastery still starts everyone at zero.

Riot is emailing selected long-time Agent players with developer messages, while Patch 13.06's new Agent Mastery still starts everyone at zero.
[7

post-6067","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news

!["Conceptual]("https://valorant.casecs2.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/agent-dedication-emails-20260925-3.jpg")
