Players can design ships and save their projects
The scenario replaces one continuous landmass with open water and scattered islands. Players collect materials on shore and underwater, then build a vessel that can carry facilities and weapons. Ship projects can be created and saved, allowing a design to be rebuilt or improved without starting the layout again.

Development is tied to maritime technology. Crews unlock production options, install naval cannons, use mines and prepare the ship for stronger enemies. The vessel is both transport and a working base, so its layout affects exploration, storage and combat throughout the scenario.
The PvE cycle lasts about 21 days
Phase I lasts roughly five to ten days and becomes shorter as the server’s purification progress rises. It introduces sailing, resource gathering, Calamity Towers and the technology system. Phase II lasts eleven days and unlocks the endgame encounter with the Sunken Lord before the rest stage begins.
This schedule applies to the PvE scenario. The rules about a ship losing stored supplies after sinking and receiving more maximum health from a saved blueprint belong to the separate Isles of Abyss: RaidZone PvP mode. They should not be treated as normal PvE penalties.

The update adds weapons, equipment and login rewards
Version 3.1.1 introduces the SOCR – Cosmic Visitor rifle and the Snowline Elite Vest, alongside equipment connected to Frost Vortex and Ice Spear effects. The scenario also adds new Mods, ship parts, morphed Deviations and rewards from Calamity Towers and the Sunken Lord.
Players who log in during the launch campaign can receive blueprints for the SOCR – Cosmic Visitor and Snowline Elite Vest, as well as 10,000 Starchrom. The claim period runs until November 8. These rewards provide a starting point, but the scenario’s ship technology and later challenges still require normal progression.

RaidZone receives a separate ocean map
Isles of Abyss: RaidZone is an ocean version of the PvP mode. It uses scarcer resources, more frequent encounters and direct attacks on other players’ ships. In that mode, saving a ship blueprint increases its maximum health. A destroyed ship can be summoned from the saved project, but supplies carried aboard are not returned.
The update also adds over-the-shoulder aiming, Halloween events and technical fixes. Players choosing a server should check whether they are entering the PvE scenario or RaidZone because the objectives, risks and ship-loss rules are different.
